Going Postal

Description

This is the postal service for Britain and Australia. Sorry, there was a comic that this is from but I decided to take it down. Apologies if you favd it.

I'm rather pleased with them both, although Royal Mail might be a little broad across the chest and Australia Post's arms look a little odd. I thought the expressions went rather well ^^

I used a Senshistock reference for the position of Royal Mail's fingers.

The proportions of the left girl do make her seem older and bigger; if this is intentional, she's meant to be larger and more full-figured, that's good, but if not, you may want to tweak the shoulders, the chest, and the hips/thighs to be a little slimmer. Also give them both a little more neck, the left girl especially. The wrinkles on the knees can be omitted entirely, they don't look right and just detract. If you do want wrinkles/folds around the knees, and to make your legs a bit more natural, try narrowing things slightly at the knee area and then widening again, and try to make a couple wrinkles/bumps right on the outline where the joint is.

The left girl's head and hands could be a bit bigger (or, the head could be raised a little/give some neck, and the other features mentioned previously slightly slimmed) and the hat should be more... round and high. More of a semicircle.

It's good that you're drawing full figures, instead of cutting off at the legs or chest like a lot of beginners do, and trying to practice hands instead of always hiding them. Using references is good. One of the great things about hands is that you always have a free one to practice drawing. Remember that a person's hand is typically big enough to cover their face (check with your own hand) . It's a common beginner mistake to draw very small hands. Your feet are a little formless, but they're pretty hard to nail. Try making the bottoms of the feet completely flat, so they look like they're flat to the floor, and then experiment/look at other's drawings to see if you can find a way to draw them a bit more realistically.

You have very clean dark lines, which is good. The proportions are overall okay, and I think you did pretty well with the right girl in particular. Their designs are a little plain though. Clothing, hair, accessories, can be fun to mess with.
